The village is located just across the 'Afsluitdijk'(closing dam) in the province of Friesland, between the Waddenzee and the IJsselmeer lake. Via a solid wooden staircase you gain access to the first floor with a second bedroom. You can reach the lovely town of Harlingen in no time at all. From here you can easily take a day trip to the welcoming Waddeneilanden (Frisian Islands) of Terschelling and Vlieland. In Harlingen you will also find a large choice in shops and restaurants. The former fishing village of Makkum lies close to the 't Friese Koetshuis holiday home. A popular location for water(sport) enthusiasts.
